Planting design
Plant form, texture, seasonal character and mature size are composed around focal points, circulation and the architecture.

Finish the landscape with a plant plan designed to mature—not merely fill space on installation day.
Plants create the atmosphere of the landscape, while soil preparation and irrigation support what happens next. We design these layers together with the hardscape and long-term use of the property.

RJ design standard
We use the design phase to resolve the property-wide decisions that would be costly, disruptive or confusing to discover after excavation starts.

What we plan and build
Final inclusions are defined for each property. These are the major capabilities and decisions commonly addressed within this service.
Plant form, texture, seasonal character and mature size are composed around focal points, circulation and the architecture.
Plant choices and hydrozones can be developed around exposure, site conditions and a lower-water design direction.
Sod or turf areas are shaped around a real purpose—play, gathering, view or visual relief—rather than used as default leftover space.
Zones and delivery methods are coordinated with plant needs, sun exposure and the geometry of the finished landscape.
Planting success begins with preparing the area for the selected palette and finish, not simply placing plants into existing conditions.
Ground finishes are selected to support the design character, moisture strategy, access and maintenance expectations.
Questions before answers
A good plan begins by asking how this scope affects the entire property.

Common questions
Yes. We can develop a lower-water direction using suitable plant groupings, defined hydrozones, efficient irrigation approaches and an intentional amount of lawn.
Turf can be considered where it supports a defined use and fits the overall property plan. We compare it with sod, planting or hardscape based on the location and homeowner priorities.
It depends on the project. RJ Landscape is best suited to irrigation work that supports a meaningful planting renovation or larger landscape remodel rather than routine maintenance-only calls.
